This Volkswagen Tow Bar features heavy duty steel construction. It has a 2 inch ball receiver and is easy to install on your Standard Beetle, Karmann Ghia or Thing that has an 2" Narrowed front beam. This VW tow bar attaches to the front beam of the car from below and is secured with the tow bar pins (pins are included). Always use a safety chain and never back up when towing any VW.
The tow bar is a tool, not a show piece. They arrive to us from the manufacturer bundled together and have scratches and imperfections in the paint. The paint and tow bar are not meant for show. The tow bar will be set on the ground and shoved under the car when installing it where it will get scratched and when towing it is very susceptible to getting scratched and ground down from the road. Please do not expect to get a tow bar with a show quality paint job. The tow bar will arrived with missing paint and scratches.
Please note: this cannot be used with an auto-stick or Super Beetle. Safety Chains are required by most states when towing, the tow bar does not come with provisions for, nor does it come with, tow chains.
