A1 Performance Exhaust
A1 headers and mufflers are the highest quality and best performing exhaust systems on the market many sizes and configurations are avaialable for most Classic volkswagens. Choose from the highflowing sidewinder header that neatly tucks under the body or the lowdown header for maximum performance. these are available in raw mild steel, raw stainless steel or ceramic coated mild steel. Sizes range from 1 1/2" - 1 3/4" and applications are available for VW type1, type 2, type3, and Volkswagen thing.
Competition sidewinder mufflers use A1's exclusive 'magna flo' muffler design built to A1's specifications, incorporating a full 2 1/2" hi-flo straight through core design and constructed in 409 stainless steel with the inlet and outlet on the same end cap for fitment versatility. This design and construction will allow the muffler to flow equally to that of an open stinger upwards of 220HP, yet allows a clean even exhaust note and achieving a noise level under 90 decibels (sound levels may vary due to engine horsepower). Numerous 11 and 12 second quarter mile street/drag cars have achieved excellent performance results with these mufflers.
The sidewinder headers from A1 in Santa Ana, Calif feature 16 gauge mild steel tubing, 3/8" thick head flanges, Superflo merged collector, gasketless tru flat collector flange, matching J pipes and everything is ceramic coated or made from stainless steel for long lasting good looks. 34" primary length, and 1 7/8" collector outlet for a powerband to 7500 rpm. Fits Type 1, Early bus, Ghia, Speedster kit cars. These headers offer superior ground clearance. Perfect for lowered VW's.
